Serves and the primary point of contact for El Campo Aquatic Center by providing information to members and customers, as well as walk-in and phone-in traffic. It is paramount that the Recreation Attendants have a broad general knowledge of the overall operations and programs offered by the El Campo Aquatic Center. Provides excellent customer service ensuring that everyone staff comes in contact with is treated with the utmost courtesy and respect, and that they receive the information they request. Team members must have positive attitudes and enjoy interfacing with the public.
Recreation Attendants are responsible for amenities, providing routine maintenance, facilitating electronic program and activity registration transactions, completing various reports, and issuing and receiving equipment & supplies.
Position is considered “Essential Personnel” which requires being on duty to respond during emergency situations including but not limited to natural and/or man-made disasters.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
-Regular and timely attendance at work, as scheduled.
-Reports to work free from the effects of illegal drugs or alcohol. Must not be impaired due to use of prescription drugs.
-Responsible for answering the telephone in a cheerful and helpful manner, within three rings, and either providing the caller with the information requested or taking contact information and routing the request to the appropriate staff member.
-Responsible for effectively communicating to citizens and other customers all programs and activities at all facility offered through the El Campo Aquatic Center.
-Responsible for meeting and greeting walk-in members and customers, assisting them and directing them to the proper area.
-Facilitate electric registration and revenue transactions for walk-in fees, membership sales, activity registrations for all facilities and snack bar.
-Responsible for operation of the electronic registration, electronic paging system, and setting up Audio/Visual equipment for classes or training and perform troubleshooting as needed.
Junior in high school; high school diploma or some college coursework preferred. . Must have the ability to learn industry software specific to El Campo Aquatic Center facilities management, registration and cash management. Must possess CPR, Emergency First Aid and AED certifications, or have the ability to obtain all of these certifications within forty-five days of employment start date. Ability to swim. Valid, Texas Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
