The City of El Campo is searching for a Code Enforcement Officer to join the team. This position performs a variety of technical duties in support of the City’s local code enforcement program; performs a full range of assigned duties in the Planning and Development Department; requires a high skill level and the ability to perform projects with multiple, complex violations, and a great amount of time working in the field verifying and enforcing city code, state code and/or policy violations regarding land use laws; supports efforts for public welfare, public safety, public health conditions on property, and property maintenance; performs other related work as assigned, with an ultimate goal of protecting residents and assisting in protecting residential and business property values
Must be able to obtain Code Enforcement Officer Certification from the Texas Department of Health within 1 year of hire. Minimum high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid class C Texas Driver’s License required. One to two years related experience or any combination of education and experience deemed appropriate by the City.
